The short version: your jobs, customers, costs and files belong to you. We use them to run BuildProfit for you, and we don't sell them.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email and sign-in information, handled by our sign-in provider.
- What you enter — company settings, jobs, customers, addresses, estimates, costs, payments, schedules, materials, subcontractors, and the photos, plans and documents you upload.
- Network profiles — if you publish a subcontractor profile, the details you choose to make public, plus licensing data from public licensing boards.
- Usage events — counts of what features are used (for example “estimate created”), without the contents of your jobs. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
- Support messages — what you send through the support form or to support@buildforprofit.org.
How your data is kept separate
Every private record is tied to your account and checked on the server for every request. Your customers, job addresses, costs, margins, photos, plans and bids are never shown to other BuildProfit accounts. The public subcontractor network only shows what a pro chooses to publish, with approximate locations. Customer links you share are private, expire, and can be revoked.
Services we use to run BuildProfit
We share data with service providers only as needed to operate the features you use:
- Hosting, file storage and database providers, which store your account data and files.
- A sign-in provider for accounts and passwords.
- AI providers, when you use AI features (estimates, design previews, plan reading, photo analysis, the assistant). Only what that feature needs is sent.
- An email provider, when BuildProfit sends an email you asked it to send.
- Mapping and geocoding services, to place job and service-area addresses for the subcontractor network.
Your choices
- You can edit or archive your records, revoke customer and bid links, and unpublish a network profile at any time.
- To export or delete your account data, email us. Signed documents may need to be kept as part of the project record.
